Resumes & Cover Letters

Creating a compelling resume and cover letter can be tough, but you don’t have to do it alone. The library has software and resources to guide you through the process, and our staff are always available to give you pointers so you can nab the interview and be well on your way to collecting a paycheck.

Resumes & Cover Letters

Statistics show that the average time employers spend looking at a resume is 6 seconds. Access library resources for advice on how to maximize the power of your resume.

Cover letters are becoming more and more vital to the job search process. They should be limited to one page, highlight your qualifications, while at the same time letting the employer know that you have done some homework about their company. Cover letters can be somewhat less formal than the resume, and so they can highlight more of your personality and qualifications for a specific job.
